for a good time…

During the late winter of 2011, I created an online, interactive map of Haverford Graffiti along with two friends, Ellen Freeman and Michael Rushmore.  We had been exploring the various scribbles, scrawls, “for a good time call” ‘s throughout the basements and bathrooms of Haverford for part of SEX DRIVE, an exhibit at the college in January, and we fell in love.  We wanted to feature the graffiti somewhere very public, so we constructed a Google map that exhibits both the depth and bredth of graffiti at Haverford.  We then put out an open call for submissions, crowdsourcing the material and allowing students and community members to volunteer their favorite phrases scribbled around campus.
